It looks like a lake and pretty clear. My kind of beach Dont need to wear a mask on the beach. Nice to breathe in that ocean breeze. THE POOLS- the pool water feels like the same temperature as the ocean water.
There are several pools because there are several Marriott properties together. The Resort has a family pool and an adult-only pool. You dont need to feel trapped with screaming kids to enjoy pool time.
The Adult pool is nice and quiet but there arent very many lounge chairs. The Cabanas at the Adult pool cost around Seventy Five dollars a day.
If lounge chairs are limited why charge so much for cabanas. Too hot during the day to use the hot tubs. The lobby bar serves drinks and appetizers in the evening.
Has live music nightly. Nice to hang out there in the evening. Ruth Chris is on property and as usual very expensive.
The casino is okay to gamble a bit to kill some time. Didnt spend much time there. The Aruba island is a desert island.
Everything is imported which means everything is expensive. The faucet and shower is desalination water. The Plaza Herencia is within walking distance.
Some shops and good restaurants. Rarely saw anyone not wearing a mask. If the hotel saw some dummy without one they would make sure they put it on and provided one if they forgot it.
Aruba's survival depends on tourism. Go to Aruba. Have a great time relaxing on the beach and you will be contributing to their survivorship.
Thank you to Nerissa at the club who always gave us customer service with a smile. Thank you to Amy and Mergy on the beach who served us drinks and food with a smile.
Date of stay: December Value. Room Tip: Top floor rooms have the best view. Dear Mm - Thank you for your detailed review and thank you for the encouraging words to visit "One Happy Island" Aruba.
It is great to hear that Nerissa, Amy, and Mergy were able to positively contribute to your vacation. We look forward to hosting you in the future and for you to do some additional relaxing at the beach.

Very clean property. We love that they have a Starbucks on site! The breakfast buffet was delicious too! We could walk to local restaurants but we loved eating on the beach at the restaurant on their beach.
We would highly recommend it here! Date of stay: December Trip type: Travelled as a couple. Dear Lookforblessings - Thank you for your wonderful review and I'm happy to hear you spend Christmas here with us.

We stayed at the property in September of Overall we enjoyed our stay! I have been to Aruba several times, this was my first time at this property.
The location is The walk is not unreasonable but there is no signage at least not that I saw that could help you make you way over to the high rise area.
The staff overall does a fairly good job maintaining safety associated with the pandemic except for 1 bartender at the adult pool who apparently thought his chin needed more protection than his mouth and nose.
The guests on the other hand - not so much. Once we saw the lax safety from guests at the main pool we tended to stay at the beach or the Adult pool which was much quieter and isolated.
Housekeeping was generally ok although there was one day when the room was not serviced not sure why. In terms of food. Breakfast was just bizarre.
Everyday we would go to the restaurant and they would ask our room number, They would do something in their computer, get distracted and then ask us room number again.
This literally happened every day. We pretty much ordered the same thing every day and every day we were charged different amounts.

It was clean, and the beds were really comfortable. If this is a five star I'd hate to see a three star.
The first problem is you have to get up at sunrise to get a spot at the beach or you not only have a walk to the water but they also charge you.
Fifty percent of the cabanas are free and if you get there later than a. I refused to wait in line with the fifty other people I should say vultures to get a free seat on the beach.
We were very surprised at the nickel and diming that went on in this hotel. I don't mind paying, but add it on the price of the room and make me feel like I'm on vacation and not like I'm standing in line at a soup kitchen.
Well after two day's of that we decided to check out the Hyatt Regency. They were doing some renovations on the place but we decided it had to be better than the Marriott, so we checked in there, and checked out of the Marriott.
Best thing we could have done. The hotel was beautiful and the service was great. We didn't even know there was construction going on.
Now we were finally in a five star hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's a few bucks more , but who cares when your on vacation, it was well worth the extra money.
Just for the record the Marriott is a three star hotel at best. We would never go back there. My husband and I loved the Aruba Marriott so much we are planning to go back next month.
The staff is very nice and the rooms are spacious. We enjoyed the casino and the beach. The MANDARIN SPA in the resort was a great place to relax and enjoy some special treatment.
I had a pedicure and manicure. The prices are affordable and the girls that staff the spa were very professional. It was nice for a change to see such a nice gym which I did use a couple of times.
The food in the hotel was a bit pricey and we didn't need the brakfast buffet however you can order off the menu the frittata was good. You can get coffee and yogurt downstairs.
We enjoyed the pool grill Waves for lunch. They had a good menu. We were easily able to get a taxi and head to the Aruba Destiny Restaurant by the Dutch Mill for dinner great food.
We have stayed at the Occidental and the Holiday INN and by far the Marriott is the best. CATHIE GALLAHER. Okay, so weve been going to Aruba years.
Friends weve met there tell us the Hyatt is old and we need to try the Marriott. Well, let me tell you, maybe eveyone else has good experiences at th marriott, but ours was not something we want to remember, in fact we have already rebooked to go back to Aruba in a few weeks just to get this bad Marriott experience behind us.
First, we book on the Marriott website and then we find a better deal, but they won't match it, some nonesense about wholesale rates don't count, so already we are having problems.
When we arrive the Executive King room we booked and paid for is not available so they want to put us in a regular room and compensate us for the downgrade.
We spoke with the general manager, what a creep!
